Motion, Music & Social
I've used Motion & Animation across a broad mix of projects.
From digital products & commercial work to music videos, social content and live performance. This collection brings some of that work together, alongside illustration, artwork and merchandise.

Animation Spotlight

Caught on Camera, Drawn by Hand
After seeing Foo Fighters at Shepherd's Bush Empire, I took some of the phone footage I'd shot from the balcony and started experimenting with it.

I rotoscoped moments from each band member, cutting them together to their then-new track, Favourite Toy.

An interview I found included the band recounting their favourite childhood toys gave me an another hook. I was able to work the toys into the animation alongside imagery and typography taken from the lyrics. I also wove in a couple of nods to Pat Smear, who was missing the show with a broken foot.

Short-form Animation
Not Just a One-Off
The Foo Fighters piece is one example of a format I've returned to many times, taking something from the music and finding a way to animate it.

This reel brings together more of that work, including pieces inspired by Chris Shiflett and The Hives among others.
Longer-Form Animation
More Room to Tell a Story
Longer-form projects give me more room to build a world around the music.
These three projects explore character, imagery and storytelling across a complete track.

They range from earlier pieces through to Pigs, which I took from first sketches to final frame.
Live Performance Visuals
Taking to the Stage
Through La Horla Collective, I've created animation and projection work for a number of live acts, working with artists to give their performance visual impact.

More recently, I've been exploring how that approach could translate to larger music stages.
Social & Brand Content
Building a Brand in The Open
Little Death is an independent clothing brand I co-founded, built around the music and alternative culture that shaped my formative years.

Social has become a place to develop its voice. Mixing illustration, animation and product photography drawing inspiration from the culture that birthed the brand.

Music Video Production
Stepping into a Different Role
Not all of my music work has happened behind a desk. I have also worked as a production assistant on a music video shoot, helping with the practical running of the set.

This included operating the haze machine, cueing the track between takes, and assisting with the setup and tear down of an overhead camera.
